Cox Physical Therapy is owned and operated by Karleen Cox, PT, DPT, OCS. The benefit of being a sole practitioner allows her to offer patients personalized care and flexibilty with scheduling appointments.
Cox Physical Therapy specializes in orthopedic and sports physical therapy, post-operative management and joint pain and dysfunction. We emphasize quality of care by giving one-on-one treatments tailored to meet each individual's rehabilitation goals. Cox Physical Therapy is committed to working closely with patients' physicians to coordinate a comprehensive rehabilitation plan for the individual.
Dr. Cox, in addition to being a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist (a designation that less than 7% of all physical therapists have), has an extensive background in athletics including competing at the collegiate level and as a novice tri-athlete. The skills developed through these experiences have equipped her to provide a creative approach to rehabilitation of many musculoskeletal conditions for athletes and weekend-warriors alike. She has a special interest in the treatment of "swimmer's shoulder", patello-femoral pain, post surgical rehabilitation of the knee and shoulder, and many other musculoskeletal and spinal conditions.
Bret McLeod, MPT, OCS, graduated with honors from California State University, Northridge in 2001. He was certified by the California PT Board as an Orthopaedic Certified Specialist in 2005. Bret has taken continuing education courses in treatment of the spine and extremities, treatment of neural tension, post-surgical rehabilitation and medical screening for the physical therapist. Bret additionally treats patients with TMJ dysfunction and vestibular dysfunction/BPPV. He volunteers as a clinical instructor for physical therapy students from CSUN and USC.
